Cassette Player Vessel In our group, we came up with the idea of a cassette player vessel. We wanted it to be openable and be able to insert cassettes inside and be able to organize them. The front will be the retro cassette player design with a front slot that can store a single cassette. We are still deciding whether or not to add a handle that can go up and down so that it can be portable. As a group, we wanted this vessel to be openable, so there will be a lid that will be attached (somewhat like a book). Overall, we wanted to focus on the retro aspect and make it compact and simple, while being useful to store a variety of cassettes.

My process for my coat hook took a bit of a trial and error. I first had issue with what kind of backing would work to put the screws in with. It came down to two choices: one with a slide in option or two main holes where the holes would go into like for a light switch. I ended up going with the second option because it was easier to put together in rhino by just having a rectangular prism that would be attached to the back of the cat and box figures. For this project, if I were to do this again, I would try to make the screws go in a different way and not have such a long back that is behind the objects. Furthermore, try to make the design much more streamlined and simple. Prusa Sli3er Final Rendering

Cat Peekaboo Hook I chose my 2nd concept for my coat hook project. I wanted to keep the whimsical atmosphere with my hook but also be useful for coats/jackets or any item. I did change some aspects when it came to my 3D model. For instance, I only just included the head and it has a pole that extends through the end which is slightly tilted upwards. Plus, it has a knob at the end so that garments do not just slip off (because that is the absolute worst!!). The entire model will be solid and I imagine it being drilled agaist the wall along the four edges of the square. My Rankings from my previous concepts: 1. Cat Hook 2. Mushrooms 3. Curly Tops 4. Telephone Dial 5. Sun & Moon 6. Abstract Points

Concept 1: Mushroom Picking This is a design is environmentally friendly, long-lived and aesthetic from the documentary. This product would potentially made from recycled plastic and it has a groove deep enough to hang a big coat or jacket. Concept 2: Peek-a-boo Cat This design will fit under the innovative and long lived design. It is cute and it won't be an eye sore to look at. Plus, there is a cat that greets when you hang your coat/jacket or even your keys! Concept 3: Abstract Points I wanted this design to be functional for different things. There is room for coats, jackets and add your keys and your hat. This would fit under innovative and little design as possible. Concept 4: Telephone Dial This would fit under innovative, honest and consistent in detail. I wanted this to be like a dial that you can turn and locks in place when each item is placed on a hook. Concept 5: Sun and Moon This would fit under purely aesthetic. I wanted it a theme that...

Step 1: My first step in the process to create my hollow form object was to create a circle with filleted edges to make it a more rounder shape. This was done by using the star point command and then using the fillet edges command. Step 2: Next I proceeded to create a pointed edge on the top to make it a dome like figure. I used the rail revolve command to achieve this form. Then, I slightly stretched the object to elongate the form. Step 3: I think mirrored the object in order to create a hourglass-like figure. This step I also used the Boolean Union command to join these two objects together and then the twist command to create its twist like pattern. Step 4: Lastly, I used the taper command to taper just around the top to create a vase-like form. Step 5: This is the final form on the Prusa Sli3er. In terms of the settings, I will use: a) Spiral Toolpath b) Single Perimeter c) No solid layer for both top and bottom Final Thoughts: From t...

Model 1: This model is built after the Stephen Ave statues that are lined across the streets in downtown Calgary. I used the twist and stretch command in order to achieve the curl at the top. I wanted it to stand up like a building would and have the hollowness in the inside and the structures as well. Model 2: My inspiration for this model was after a bird cage. I admire the lattice that it possess and the twisting design makes it look almost like a waterfall. My process to achieve this model was to create a dome, slice it in half and used rails. Then I applied the twist command and lastly the taper command to create a rounded shape at the top. Model #3: Since it is the beginning of the fall season, this was inspired by a pumpkin or a squash. My process was to create a star polygon shape at the bottom and used loft and extrudecrv to achieve the rounded shape. Lastly, I added the twist function to add a swirl like pattern. Model #4: This particular model was making it...
